SEAHORSE Bulk Carrier design philosophy
Our SEAHORSE designs are modern and highly efficient Bulk Carrier designs developed in close cooperation with owners and operators.
The SEAHORSE designs are developed with specific focus on:

The SEAHORSE 35/375 is a 35,000/37,500 DWT Handy Size Bulk Carrier design developed in 2007.
The first SEAHORSE 35/375 vessel was contracted in 2008 by a Danish owner at a Chinese shipyard. Per today 60 SEAHORSE 35/375 vessels have been contracted by prominent owners and operators, such as Cobelfret, Hanzevast, Pola, Graig, Essberger, Berthling, Aug. Bolten, Ariston Navigation Corp, Nordic Hamburg, Falcon Maritime, Montenegro Line, Wah Kwong and MUR.
The vessels have been contracted at 10 different Chinese shipyards.
The success of the SEAHORSE 35/375 Bulk Carrier design was acknowledged by Lloyds List’s Greek Shipping Awards 2013 by awarding M/V ARDENNES Ship of The Year 2013.

New generation of SEAHORSE designs
Encouraged by the great success of the SEAHORSE 35/375 design OMT has developed three new SEAHORSE Bulk Carrier designs
- SEAHORSE 38/40/41 (38,000/40,000/41,000 DWT Handy Size Bulk Carrier)
- SEAHORSE 62 (62,000 DWT Ultramax Bulk Carrier)
Hull form, propeller and ESD optimisation and tank testing of both designs have been prepared in close cooperation with our Japanese partner, Mitsubishi Heavy Industry.
